Requested by Colgate University: "When you search, you cannot tell what collection your results belong to. Can the Identifier column be added to the search results display? We have added this column in the Browse display, but cannot find a way to do the same thing for Search Results".
I don’t think this is working yet. I think the intent was to display the 1st available ancestor Identifier in search results. Right now, archival objects do not display the parent resource identifier in search results in multi view and do not contain an identifier column when the results are filtered to AOs only.
Perhaps identifier needs to be a permanent column with conditional calculation rules based on obejct type and data present in the object?
Tested and the identifiers and the identifier column appear for certain records like accessions and resources. However, I am seeing the same issue as Joshua where archival objects show no identifier and filter results to just archival objects the identifier column disappears.
See my comment from December. Behavior appears to be the same for 2.8.0 RC
