The breadcrumb trail should appear in both the staff and public user interfaces. In Archon that is basically the same layout. In ArchivesSpace there are distinct interfaces.

We feel the use of Classifications is very important for our researchers and the staff who use the collections daily. A breadcrumb trail is a way to navigate collections and their hierarchical relationship. The breadcrumb trail provides a way-finding tool and acts as a general reference to guide further related research by navigating to similar collections.

We need a breadcrumb trail in the PUI and staff interface that follows like our identifier (RG/10/OGEN/65). We have record groups (Classifications) like RG or MG and then subgroups (sub-Classifications) like 10 (which is a specific agency) and then sub-subgroups (still sub-Classifications) like OGEN (which is a bureau or similar level). 65 is the collection. We need to be able to back out of a collection page (see screen shot) to a higher classification. We need to move to a page with a short description of the agency or bureau and all series in that classification.

Breadcrumbs are now present on the PUI side, but in checking with the original reporter she indicated that she is actually requesting that the collection hierarchy display, which is different from the intent of the breadcrumbs.

Courtesy of the fixes that came in with ANW-233, it looks like the breadcrumbs might now be correct on the PUI side, but possibly still lacking for classification terms on the staff interface side. Need to investigate more.
