(extracted from Lydia Tang's original multi-issue report on AR-1378)
When using the RDE, the RDE window disappears and any entered data is lost if the user clicks outside of the window. Either it should not be so sensitive or there should be a confirmation window warning that data will be lost, in case it's an accidental click.
Per Dev. Pri. team - it would be great if there is data in the fields for a window to confirm whether or not to navigate away from it (similar to an edited but not saved Resource). If the fields were untouched or empty, it's fine to immediately go away, but the big problem has been users losing data when they accidentally click outside of the pop out window and cancel it.
what do you think about this description? Is it enough to pass at the next meeting? I think you needed to investigate if adding the click-through confirmation would be a lot of work. Thanks!
This should be part of the refactoring of the RDE that is coming soon.
This appears to be fixed in test.archivesspace.org.
RDE no longer closes if I click outside of the box.
