This would be true for the RDE in the Resource module and in the Digital Objects module.
Currently, the rde options only support recording of new component records for resources or digital objects. It would expedite revision of description if the rde's could also be used to edited existing sets of components.
It would be very useful to have more descriptions from users of how this might best work.
User could:
Select contiguous sibling component records
Then select option to edit by RDE
Selected sibling component records are added into the RDE for editing
When done, changes are written to database and RDE closes
It would be great to also have a bulk delete option. Understandably, that could be risky, but it would be great to be able to highlight a section and select "delete" (with a confirmation). In the screen shot, it "looks" like it would be possible, but actually it appears to only be possible to drag-and-drop the selected archival objects. Thanks!
Additional context to by provided by Lydia Tang.
I like the capabilities of the new bulk operations feature and wonder if that could be expanded to include bulk edit and bulk delete of archival objects. For bulk edit, it would be similar to Rapid Barcode Entry, but all of the text fields (like RDE) are editable fields.
Per Dev. Prio. team, this definitely a priority but we're planning to hold it back until we get more of the RDE tickets together. Figuring out the logistics of Bulk edit will be pretty involved.
