As an Archivist, when I spawn a new Resource from an existing Accession Record, I want it to use the repository's resource record default values


I recently set up default values for a variety of fields and Notes within resource records. Creating a brand new resource record utilizes the default values, but spawning from an accession record does not utilize those default values. My institution almost exclusively spawns resource records from accession records. I have not found a workaround (other than copying and pasting a lot).

This is a highly desirable feature. In addition to spawning, though, the thing that would be even more useful would be to be able to add default notes to existing resource records (at top or component level). This was a basic feature in AT and used all the time.

Our repository needs implementation of this functionality to further integrate oral history management into ArchivesSpace. Any updates?
