I am submitting this on behalf of an ArchivesSpace staff user. As an archivist, they would like for the information in the Rights sub-record to appear on the PUI and be available to the researcher. The notes in the Rights sub-record have publish boxes, but even when they are checked, the information does not appear on the PUI. They are using the Conditions Governing Access and Use notes for now to communicate rights information.
As a special collections team administrator and ArchivesSpace user, I’d also like to see this issue addressed so that we can easily communicate rights information to the institution’s Rights & Reproduction office.
At the June 24, 2020 meeting of Dev/Pri, we concluded that the purpose of the rights statement module needs more community agreement before we can allow it to be published.
Thanks for this update. Your answer is a little confusing to me, though. There already is a publish checkbox for the rights statement; we’re simply asking that it function.
The publish checkbox is only there because it is using the same template that notes are using. It is certainly shouldn’t be there if it doesn’t do anything though!
