Particularly clear with Biographical/Historical notes and assumed with other notes that line breaks that are visible in the staff interface aren't applied in the public interface. In this example, I have a line break in the staff interface and the PUI completely runs together the sentences. This persists if I add a double line break (empty row) between paragraphs.
Also closely related, having a space next to line breaks cause break tags to be dropped on the PUI. It's that space that causes the formatting to be missing the <br> on the PUI side where they would be normally. It’s like the line breaks are ignored because of the spaces.
Just wanted to add support for this issue being fixed- it’s proving hard for new users here in Cambridge. If there is a right way of adding line breaks could there also be specific instructions in the Help Center about this? I haven’t been able to locate any.
Just to clarify, this ticket is asking for the ability to create a single line break without having to do tagging. Related to this ticket: and , could the User Manual have specific info on how to create paragraph breaks (one empty line) and a line breaks? Thanks!
– I wondering if this page might be the best place for that: . If you agree, I can go ahead and make that update.
