12:56:59 From Christine Di Bella : Hello everyone! The wiki page with the initial questions for this call is at https://archivesspace.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ADC/pages/834994187/2019-04-03+UAC+Reports+Open+Call. Feel free to ask or bring up more ideas in the call! 12:59:15 From ashley : FYI - Ashley Knox is here and I'm taking notes today. 13:00:04 From Jane L. : Will we be able to engage in additional discussion/submit addiional comments later? My colleague who is the most knowledgeable about our report needs is unfortunately out of the office today! 13:00:06 From Christine Di Bella to ArchivesSpace(Privately) : Hi there! Jessica, is this you? 13:00:17 From ArchivesSpace to Christine Di Bella(Privately) : no - Laurie 13:00:50 From Christine Di Bella to ArchivesSpace(Privately) : got it - thanks! 13:07:42 From FPitaro : I'm at the AP corp. archives. We use accessions report to get our statistics at the end of year 13:07:43 From Krista Oldham : yes 13:07:45 From Rachel Searcy : We have only been using Location Holdings for paging. The others were either previously not working or not exactly what we needed for other parts of our work. 13:07:53 From Julia Novakovic : https://archivesspace.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/AC/pages/101847232/Reports+Subteam+Recommendations+for+Predefined+Reports# 13:08:04 From Julia Novakovic : Above link is the list of reports and what they all include! 13:09:16 From Sarit Hand : I have more interest in the custom reporting option 13:10:23 From Marcella : (Marcella - University of Kansas, Kenneth Spencer Research Library) - I've used the accessions list report to get a basic intellectual control over unprocessed accessions. We now generate our own accessions report from SQL queries in order to ensure I know about all entered accessions in ArchivesSpace and can account for them, intellectually. 13:11:20 From Marcella : Most of the other given reports have not suited our needs/not been working right until recently 13:13:07 From FPitaro : We have about 300 collections, 4,000 linear feet. Paper, artifacts, oral histories, video, etc. 13:13:18 From sdm7g : (Steve @ UVA ) We have added custom/CollectionManagementSubreport to resources_list_report and use that a lot. 13:14:42 From sdm7g : Yes: all of the variations are confusing. It would be better to have fewer but make them easier to extend or customize. 13:17:47 From Rachel Searcy : The Shelflist Report is a list of all locations, so it doesn't have this functionality 13:18:28 From Marcella : I would LOVE a report on archival objects associated with containers (i.e., I want to know all folders supposed to be in box X within a resource record) - the csv that you're supposed to be able to download from the search results when trying to hunt down all linked objects to top containers does NOT work, and I recently had to sort out an issue where folders were mistakenly associated with the wrong top container. Being able to actually spit out a csv with just top container, titles of archival objects associated with that top container, and child information associated with those archival objects would be SUPER helpful. 13:18:48 From Marcella : (Mentioning this because I'll probably have to duck out of the call soon - thanks for hosting this discussion!) 13:22:39 From Rachel Searcy : Marcella -- we use this plugin to facilitate workflows for digitization between departments, but you can also use it to create a csv of archival objects and their box/folder numbers. It might help (also happy to talk more if you want further info). https://github.com/hudmol/digitization_work_order 13:25:03 From Marcella : oooh, thanks so much for sharing that, Rachel - I'll mention this to my supervisor and our IT folks and see if we can play around with this plugin (it might also be helpful for digitization here too!) 13:25:28 From Rachel Searcy : Sure thing - please feel free to reach out if you have questions! (rachel.searcy@nyu.edu) 13:28:30 From Rachel Searcy : Re: customization - I'd love to have a more modular option to reporting based on certain types of record types. Like, selecting an Accession Report, then identifying the fields you want, and setting any scoping parameters. It feels like that is sort of on the fuzzy boundary between changing the reports and customization. 13:33:43 From Rachel Searcy : That user group list report sounds great! 13:37:54 From lmcphee : The continued evolution of the Reports (as background jobs) is important, but it seems that any result of a search/filter in the staff user interface should produce a set of results that can be exported as CSV. That "download CSV" button is a teaser and still doesn't work--is that in the realm of the Reports subcommittee? 13:42:50 From Rachel Searcy : This might be nitpicky, but could the Name Records list report be renamed to Agents Records list? 13:43:09 From Sarit Hand : I second @lmcphee 13:48:12 From Sarit Hand : You will need better filtering when searcing 13:52:12 From lmcphee : If there is a ticket for a CSV export of search results set (I think someone mentioned there was?) please share the ticket, so folks on this call can follow and upvote it! 13:52:19 From lmcphee : on JIRA 13:54:02 From Christine Di Bella : Laurel - here's a JIRA ticket for the CSV export: https://archivesspace.atlassian.net/browse/ANW-565 13:54:08 From lmcphee : thanks! 13:58:21 From alston : cobourna18@ecu.edu 13:58:25 From alston : alston cobourn 13:58:49 From ashley : Thank you! 13:59:11 From Rachel Searcy : Thanks! 13:59:18 From FPitaro : Thanks! 13:59:19 From Sarit Hand : THANK YOU!!
