The Role of the Nominating Committee will be to administer the process of electing members to the Governance Board and of Trustees and appointing recommending members for appointment to the Technical and User Advisory councils.  That role entails calling for nominations, conducting elections for trustees Governance Board members and announcing winners to the TrusteesBoard and ArchivesSpace community, assessing nominations nominees for councils and recommending appointees to the TrusteesBoard, and confirming all appointments with appointees.    

The Nominating Nominations Committee will begin its work immediately after the Spring Board of Trustees meeting (April) and conclude it by June 15 of the same year.  The Nominating Committee will formally report results at the Summer Board of Trustees meeting (July).

 

The Nominating Committee will be appointed in the first meeting of each year and will consist of be constituted at the 3rd Quarter Board Meeting each year (typically in March), and it will begin its work in early April. Its work will conclude in June after elections have concluded and appointments made to the councils.   

The Nominations Committee will include the following members:  

  • Chair of the Board of TrusteesGovernance Board, or another Board member delegated the role
  • Chair of the Technical Advisory Council
  • Chair of the User Advisory Council
  • At large member representing the Very Large and Large membership levels
  • At large member representing the Medium, Small, and Very Small membership levels.
  • Five at large members, each representing one of the ArchivesSpace membership levels
  • ArchivesSpace Program Manager, ex officio 

 

The Chair of the Board of Trustees Nominating Committee will be the Chair of the Nominating Committee.  the Governance Board, or the assigned delegate.
