ArchivesSpace will be holding a Western Regional Forum on April 22, 2020, at the San Francisco Public Library.  This will be a free opportunity for staff from ArchivesSpace member institutions to meet and share information with each other about local users' interests and needs and to connect with the program team about all things ArchivesSpace.

Registrants will be able to vote on the workshop topic they would most like to see offered as a three hour workshop.  

Nancy Enneking, Head of Institutional Archives at The Getty Center and member of the ArchivesSpace Training Corps, will offer a workshop on the topic that receives the most votes from those registered for the forum.

Workshop Title: Space Management in ArchivesSpace

Upon completing this workshop, you’ll have learned how to use ArchivesSpace to:

  • Create and manage physical containers within a repository

  • Create and manage container profiles
  • Create and manage physical locations within a repository

  • Automatically generate the volume measurement of a resource

  • Track available space within repository storage areas

Topic B:
Digital Objects in ArchivesSpace

Upon completing this workshop, you will have a working knowledge of:

  • The functional scope of the ArchivesSpace Digital Objects module

  • How ArchivesSpace might be used in tandem with external digital asset management systems

  • How to create and update simple and complex Digital Object records

  • How to link and relate Digital Object records to Resource and Accession records

  • How to generate Digital Object metadata exports in standardized data formats
