Minutes
- In consultation with Christine Di Bella and Laney McGlohon (Unlicensed), the group decided that a separate installation of ArchivesSpace, maintained by the ArchivesSpace project for testing report functionality is feasible and recommended. The ArchivesSpace installation should include a repository with the Public User Interface group's testing data and a repository with data in the UAC Reports repository currently located on test.archivesspace.org.
- The group agreed on the Recommended Edits to Major Activities of the Reports Subteam for the Subteam Charges At-a-Glance document.
- Finally, members of the group attending the ArchivesSpace Member Forum and SAA agreed to meet up during lunch at the ArchivesSpace Member Forum on Tuesday, July 25. Members may also meet up after the SAA Collection Management Tools Section meeting concludes at 3:45 PM in room C124 of the Oregon Convention Center.
Addenda
Recommended Edits to Major Activities of Reports Subteam for Subteam Charges At-a-Glance
- Regularly test report functionality in releases and release candidates on an ArchivesSpace-provided test server or on a local server.
- Utilize tools such as MySQL Workbench, Microsoft Excel, phpMyAdmin, etc. to identify tables and fields for report definitions.
- Assess and suggest improvements to overall report module functionality and user interface.
- Work with developers to explore different methods of report generation within ArchivesSpace and provide useful community guidance on implementing external tools to generate custom reports.
