2020-2021 work plan

• 2019-2020 work plan: 2019-2020 Metadata Standards sub-team Work Plan

  • Accomplishments

    • Tiered approach to standards/mapping work (what do we need to support vs. what is nice to support)

  • Outstanding work/work to be continued

    • Import testing processes--process workflow was completed, but work was tedious to test the import/export mappings; wanted to involve devs and tech leads on this process

    • Can the import/export map be automated in the code? Sustainable processes

      • Need to be careful to do this once release is stable to avoid re-doing work

      • Is there a specification for the new agents module we can look at?

      • Need to ask @Christine Di Bella what the current status is of this

      • Might be able to do a test migration prior to release and see how import/export behaves

    • Important to support front end users with good documentation

  • Investigate automated ways to generate documentation such as Import/export map

    • Manual work may not be necessary to improve documentation

    • Look at work of API documentation group about auto-generated documentation

    • Focus on weird mappings/edge cases where assumptions were made

  • Investigate communication loop between devs/tech staff and this group

  • Address use cases for users who don’t have access to backend systems or have deep technical expertise

  • Review Jira tickets when needed

  • Review/update the list of supported metadata standards mapping
