  • 1.4.0 was released on 9/29. A couple of bugs were discovered and 1.4.1 was released last week.

Lyrasis to host ASpace Atlassian and Sandbox instances. Create training instances. Brian Harrington of Lyrasis to support migrations (particularly non Archon/AT).
  • Looking forward - Board meeting on 11/12 (short call-in). Final release of year will be 12/11.A feature freeze before Thanksgiving. Work on building a developer roadmap for first 6 months of 2016. And discussed possibly changing the release/sprint cycle.
Terry had question on data changes/impact from the plug-in release and how documented. BradleyW (Unlicensed)said he would get with Chris Fitzpatrick (Unlicensed) about this.

5Features Prioritization & Testing sub-team updateany volunteers?Sally Vermaaten (Unlicensed) gave the report. Group hasn't had call-in since last TAC due to developers working 1.4.0, container management functionality and performance issues. Next meeting is 10/30.
6Committer Oversight sub-team updateTerry Reese (Unlicensed)This sub-team met today. They went over last years plans. 7Bug Wrangler sub-team updateMark CooperThis sub-team is not quite off the ground yet. Consists of just Mark Cooper and Rachel Maderik (Unlicensed).  The wiki page has been updated. Sub-team work-plans - next steps

Most grups seem to have ideas and an initial document created. Sally Vermaaten (Unlicensed) asked whether the sub-teams should post their draft plans to the TAC listserv. Concensus seemed to be Yes and it was suggested it be sent out to the user listserv. BradleyW (Unlicensed)suggested that this shuld be the goal for all the sub-teams. Sally Vermaaten (Unlicensed) said all the sub-teams should try to have drafts by next TAC call-in.

General announcements - open floor for members to raise ArchivesSpace-related news of interest

  • Hackathon - Nov 9 - 11
  • other announcements?
SallySally Vermaaten (Unlicensed) reported that the Hackathon on Nov 9-11 is being sponsored by NYU. Around 20 people have signed up already. If any TAC members have topics or ideas they'd like to see Hackathon members raise, please contact her.
11Discussion: Do we see any opportunities to propose sessions / presentations at upcoming conferences (Code4Lib, etc.)?All

A suggestion by Terry Reese (Unlicensed) was made for Code4Lib to do a "How to get started" session. Emphasize community aspect. Noah Huffman (Deactivated) suggested a short session on how to write plug-ins, walk-thru an example. BradleyW (Unlicensed)suggested to this could also cover other ways to contribute to ASpace (specs, testing, etc).

Noah Huffman (Deactivated) mentioned that a SAA spreadsheet has been started for ideas (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GLfkcMFZ9X3u_MY3LNzw8USYSFr60PzoHSddTzytH3M/edit?pli=1#gid=0) Deadline is Nov. 13 for sessions; some types of sessions can be proposed later (e.g. pop-ups, roundtables). Noah will send out the spreadsheet link information to the TAC group. BradleyW (Unlicensed)posed the idea of a set of HowTos contribute for SAA: feature requests by asking, , writing specifications, creating reports, building importers, plug-ins, etc. Sally Vermaaten (Unlicensed) said she would help.

Esme? mentioned upcoming Hydra meetings may be a good opportunity to run ArchivesSpace developer sessions.

BradleyW (Unlicensed) asked some questions about Code4Lib. Last year a house was provided  and a couple sessions were held there. Repeat in Philly? It was suggested to do something, like proposed for SAA as a pre-conference 1/2 day workshop. Chris Fitzpatrick (Unlicensed) and Brian Hoffman (Unlicensed) will be there and culd help. Terry Reese (Unlicensed) said he could do some high level stuff. Max Eckard said he'd be there and willing to help. A signup sheet for pre-conference events gets added to the CODE4LIb website. Terry Reese (Unlicensed) will post note on TAC listserv confirming about a potential Code4lib pre-conference session and confirming who from TAC might be interested in helping to set something up.

12Next meeting time - Nov 16 at 3pm Eastern US Let Sally Vermaaten (Unlicensed) know if you have future call-in conflicts.
