2024-2025 User Documentation Retrospective

Accomplishments:

  • Created new and updated existing documentation for improvements and new functionality in version v4.0.0 (ANW-1428, ANW-1836, ANW-2091, ANW-769, ANW-2080).

  • Continued systematic review of help center pages by reviewing and updating the Importing and Exporting Data module documentation.

  • Published to the User Manual a comprehensive list of fields that publish in the Resource record of the Public User Interface.

  • Updated Style Guide to include borders, info panels, and use of tables for field descriptions.

  • Reviewed and updated documentation 3 page comments, and 1 community submitted suggestion.

  • Led a discussion on User Documentation at the November UAC meeting.

  • Gave an overview of User Documentation, including workflow, recent User Manual revisions, and current term projects, at the 2025 Virtual Member Forum.

  • Consolidated duplicate sub-record pages into a new section in the User Manual, “Sub-Records Shared Across Record Types.”

Challenges:

  • Size of team and meeting deadlines for new releases

Priorities for next term:

  • Continue systematic review of help center pages

  • Documentation review for Public User Interface
