2025-2026 Usability Work Plan

In the 2025-2026 term, the Usability Subteam plans to leverage community feedback gathered in last term’s Community Discussion regarding interest in the modification of default configuration options directly from the Staff User Interface (see attached Executive Summary for details) to explore and model potential revisions to Staff User Interface architecture that would make such modifications possible.

Through content analysis of existing backend configuration options and Staff User Interface menus, the Usability Subteam will draft a proposal that includes structural specifications for changes to the Staff User Interface that would allow for the modification of configuration changes prioritized by the ArchivesSpace Community.

Additionally, the Usability Subteam will review new tickets assigned to the team by the Development Prioritization sub-team, and will review usability-related tickets in the “Needs More Information” queue.
