Working title: Usability Subteam Update: Surfacing Configuration Settings for the Public User Interface

For the past year, the Usability Subteam, with support from ArchivesSpace front-end developer Brian Zelip, has been working towards a feature-rich proposal involving the application's configuration settings. If accepted and implemented, this proposal would allow users to modify default configuration options for the Public User Interface directly from the Staff User Interface instead of updating the back-end configuration file. Community feedback provided as part of an ArchivesSpace Community Discussion in April 2025 has also been invaluable to this effort.

In this session, the Usability Subteam will present their work so far, including a mock-up of a Staff User Interface menu for select configuration settings for making changes to the Public User Interface. We’ll explain how community feedback informed our decision-making, and will open the floor to questions and comments at the end of the session.
