Each ArchivesSpace member organization is entitled to one vote for each user story, which is to be cast by the organization’s member representative.  We encourage member representatives to review with their organization’s archives staff the user stories and vote according to the consensus of the group.

To cast a vote, each member representative needs to have an active account in the ArchivesSpace JIRA.  If you have not yet established an account, per the invitation sent to member representatives by Christine DiBella on Monday, April 13, please do so at your earliest convenience.  If you need assistance establishing an account, please contact Christine Di Bella (christine.dibella@lyrasis.org / archivesspacehome@lyrasis.org).

Once your account is established, casting a vote is simple. Find a user story you want to vote on and review it in detail.  Some user stories may only have a caption / title, while others may include extensive description, comments from developers and users, and attached files, such as specification documents or email.

Once you reviewed the user story and have decided that implementing it is critical your organization’s use of ArchivesSpace, then click  on the “Vote for this issue” option on the right hand side of the user story record:

If you change your mind or make a mistake, you can click on the “Remove vote for this issue” to remove your vote (which will replace the option “Vote for this issue”).

While you are voting for issues, you may also indicate that you want to watch the progress of any user story simply by clicking on the “Start watching this issue” option that occurs directly underneath the voting option.  As with the voting option, you can stop watching a user story by clicking on the “Stop watching this issue” option (which replaces the “Start watching this issue”).
