All NAF authority records have 670 fields. Often multiple such fields. These indicate the source of the information in the authority record. Often, the information in the source, if decrypted by a knowledgeable person, can be handy and sometimes even read plainly it can help understand who the person is--essentially it has information that may be considered biographical sometimes. However, these are not biographical notes. In MARC authorities the 678 field contains the biographical note or administrative history.

If you download the MARCXML file of this name (or use the LCNAF plug-in) the 670 field content lands in the biographical/administrative history note.

There are a few ways we could change this:

1. provide for a dedicated sources note

2. place it in a “general context” type note with a label that reads “Source/s”.
