As a repository manager or archivist, I want some of the terminology in the Background Jobs area to be changed to make the functionality clearer to users

Description

From the Staff Interface Enhancement Working Group final recommendations:

It may be desirable to rename Background Jobs entirely to something like "Actions" "Tools" "Functions" to make it more evident what their purpose is, rather than just that they are things that run in the background. [though these are also somewhat opaque]

Depending on whether the overall term is changed, and to what, changed some of the individual bottoms or menu items to things like:

Queue Job --> Start Job
Print to PDF --> Generate PDF
Reports --> Create Report

Tested and the new terminology: Start Job, Generate PDF, and Create PDF appears on the test.archivesspace.org site

I support the recommendations in the above comment

Per Dev. Pri., we're passing this ticket to implement the proposed terminology changes for
Queue Job --> Start Job
Print to PDF --> Generate PDF
Reports --> Create Report
but keep Background Jobs the same for now. We're still open to suggestions for a replacement name, but potentially a tool tip explaining that Background Jobs are functions which can operate during regular program use may be "good enough" for now.

To get this out of Awaiting More Information, it would be best to decide on the specific terminology to be used in place of "Background Jobs" and have that reflected in the ticket.

As you mentioned, this is in SIEWG specs. Move this ticket to "Ready for Implementation"?
