There's currently a way to sort processing status within the Browse collection management view. Since Collection Management could be assigned to an Accession, Resource, or (possibly) and Archival Component, it seems like this flexibility/specificity may be better than assigning it only to Accessions. Does that sound ok? At my local repository, I set up the Accession template with an open Collection Management module, so it's easier for staff to make that CM record during the time of creating the accession and it seems to work pretty well.
