Council leadership meeting in February

Save the date: Wednesday, February 10, 11 am - 12:30 pm EST

• Randy and Trevor have been in touch with counterparts in UAC to discuss council leadership, what’s working with the councils, how could we be more efficient, do we need to be more prescriptive about how many members there are on subteams, etc.

• Expectation that sub-team and working group leads along with chairs and co-chairs, but is open to anyone who is interested, particularly those who are interested in a leadership position at some point in the future or if you have held a leadership position in the past

• Proper invitation going out late December/early January. More info to come.

Program update

• Working on the agents release.

• 2.8.1 recently came out with “everything that is not the agents release” and now all energy is going into the agents release

  • Will not be out before the end of 2020.

• Working with groups including user docs and testing to make sure all the user documentation, supporting info, etc. is up-to-date and that the functionality is working as expected

• Release candidate anticipated sometime in January.

• Webinar has been scheduled – likely a preview of the release and not concurrent with the actual release. Scheduled for January 13th. More info will be in the next update.

• Initiatives put together out of anti-racism discussion. ArchivesSpace Diversity Partnership is the first initiative to receive approval from ArchivesSpace board. Will serve unrepresented communities/institutions (i.e., HBCUs, tribal archives). Application, review, and selection will start early 2021.
