on your election to I regret to inform you that you were not elected to serve as the new member representative for Very Large member institutions on the ArchivesSpace Governance Board representing (size) member institutions.
Your two-year term will begin on July 1 and run through June 30, 20?? – but don’t worry! You won’t have any immediate duties. In fact, it will be our first duty to orient you to board member responsibilities and consult with you and other board members about the scheduling of our quarterly meetings for the coming year. More on all that soon.

The voting was very close, however, and I hope you will take that as an indication of the community’s appreciation for your experience and leadership. I also hope you will take it as an encouragement to consider a nomination for a future vacancy on the board or in other capacities. As community-driven, community-based organization, the involvement of knowledgeable and experienced members is vitally important and an ongoing need.
