The Nominating Committee Chair is appointed by the Governance Board to represent the Board in the nominations process and to serve as the Committee's liaison to the Board.

The Chair is responsible for leading or executing the following responsibilities:

  • Working with the Governance Board to identify and appoint suitable members of the ArchivesSpace community to serve as membership category representatives on the Nominating Committee.
  • Reviewing and revising as needed the calls for nominations to fill vacancies on the Governance Board, Technical Advisory Council, and User Advisory Council.
  • Organizing the members of the Nominations Committee to be more active in drumming up nominees (throughout April and into May)
  • Facilitating meetings of the Nominations Committee
  • Forwarding recommendations of the Nominations Committee to the Governance Board (end of May / early June)
  • Announce the start and close of the election
  • Posting the results of the appointments process and election (end of June)

Some of the above responsibilities may be shared with Program Manager, who serves as an ex officio member of the Nominating Committee.

I’ll be happy to schedule meetings, take notes for meetings, gather and disseminate nominations to committee members, follow up with nominees not appointed and not recommended for elections, set up the election and retrieve results, update rosters for FY2017, and anything else I might be forgetting.
