Member Match mixer 1 takeaways/notes
Follow up question from Christine Liebson, she will post it in the listserv. (exciting!)
How do we share the air a bit more moving forward?
→ Mary bring in list of reminders to events to encourage better participation
Important to remind people that Member Match is not for technical support, use another channel for support (listserv, go to ASpace)
Ask for people to raise their hands in the Zoom to allow for more turns
Jamboards for other types of discussions, not tips and tricks
Possibly post tip in advance on the jamboard to allow for people to speak up
→ Jaime set up jamboard
→ Send out a slide in advance with housekeeping stuff, able to send to only registrants
Feel empowered to move the conversation along
Plan Member Match mixer 2 – sub-team collaboration
Last year collabed with Dev Pri, have interest from Dev Pri and Testing?
Topic: Sub-team collaboration
Date and Time (early December): December 12 noon EST
ASpace event on December 6
Email:
→ Send out invite to TAC sub-team leads as well
Jessica will create Zoom event info on Monday 10/30
Get announcement out by November 10
Code of Conduct review
Information on time commitment:
No solid timeline as to completion of the review, will depend on whether the group decides to solicit the assistance of a DEI facilitator.
One phase would focus on reviewing and drafting recommended changes to the Code and drafting guidelines for discussions of harmful archival material within the ArchivesSpace community.
Community feedback period, possibly with one or more townhall events, followed by a revision phase.
Recommendations would likely go to the board for approval.
Start first phase by January at the latest
Leadership of the Task Force is open
Once we have 2-3 sub-team members engaged with the Task Force, we’ll put out a call to the community for volunteers (ideally November/December).
Jaime can possibly assist later with townhalls, etc.
Regina can help with leadership part
Can the board address what they hope the task force to do
What is the role of the chair of the task force, what are their expectations
Hope for a project manager role, keeping things on task
Listserv discussion feedback
I would love to see the discussion revived. I think they have been helpful in the past. Plus, it is another venue to ask questions and receive useful information.
Like the idea of having a more directed and/or structured opportunity to interact. I always get something out of a group activity/alternative informal engagement opportunity.
I think this list is best served for targeted announcement rather than discussion. I would rather see more live discussion/interaction rather than using this list to discuss but something structured works.
Hybrid approach, keep up monthly discussion posts in the listserv
Assign monthly as well, start in January, 2nd or 3rd week of each month
Revive “Take a Break with ArchivesSpace” for unstructured discussion
First Friday of the month, assign randomly
Review of Member Match pages?
Bring suggestions to next meeting
Member match and council confluence pages are public
→ ID pages to check for this and send a reminder
Discussion
No set responsibilities for vice lead person, lead delegates to vice lead
Regina had Bailey doing board report, stepped in if lead could not make a meeting
