User Docs:

Notable accomplishments: Nearing completion of new documentation for v3.5.0; completed review of subject module documentation; completed review of fields that publish in a resource record in the PUI.

Goals for remainder of term: Publish assessment of resource record fields; follow through with sub-team collaborations (Testing/Tech Docs); Complete “continuity” documentation for future User Docs sub-team chairs.

Cross Council sub-team work plans

Dev Pri:

  • Making good progress working through Jira tickets

  • Started a collection of Jira tickets to circulate to the wider community for feedback so that we can better respond / understand needs etc.

  • Planning work with Thimios Dimopulos to look at how we can support the community to submit and write Jira tickets. This is likely to be a major goal for the rest of this term and will be focussing our April meeting on this as a kick-off.

Testing:

  • Onboarded new members, Michelle Paquette agreed to serve as vice-lead, held guided intro to Jira ticket and regression testing sessions.

  • Completed testing for 24 Jira tickets including:

    • Improved Collection Organization

    • Revisions to Public Print to PDF output

    • User password reset

    • Revisions to reorder mode

  • Completed full suite regression testing for 3.5.0

  • Still hoping to update some outdated testing documentation and possibly record videos introducing Jira and regression testing for future members.

Discussion

Engaging with the ArchivesSpace member community

  • Can you speak about your role for those who may not be familiar. What types of events or programs should go through you?  What should council members pursue on their own?

  • What are some best practices for engaging with the ArchivesSpace community?

  • What venues are available for communication?

  • What types of community engagement over the years have been most impactful?  Do you have any particular success stories to share?  Is there anything that you would like to see council members revive?

  • Are there any unusual or unconventional ideas for community engagement that you would like to see someone try? This could include things you have seen in spaces other than the ArchivesSpace community?

  • Are there any future engagement initiatives in the works that would be good for this group to know about?
