Minutes

  • The group discussed the feedback from the developers at Hudson Molonglo (HM) who reviewed drafts of the following ArchivesSpace Reports Module documents:
    • Module Requirements
    • Module User Interface
    • Resources List Report Definition
    • Draft exports for the Resources List Report in CSV, HTML, and PDF/RTF formats
  • The subteam continued work from the 2016 December 13 meeting by completing an initial review of the draft List of Predefined Reports to remove redundant reports or those than can be achieved by limiting or parameterizing other reports. The group still needs to 
  • The subteam further discussed the need to submit a JIRA ticket to address the need for a way to delete stalled background jobs.
  • Finally, Nancy Enneking and Carolyn Runyon will meet with James Bullen of HM and Laurie Arp of LYRASIS on 2017 January 5 to further discuss HM's feedback on the drafts reports specification and establish helpful next steps.

Feedback from HM

Regarding the draft ArchivesSpace Reports Module Requirements published in the Reports Subteam Meeting Minutes, 2016/12/13, HM suggested it may be too challenging to address all of the requirements, notably:

  • "interactive and customizable report module"
  • "Archivists with limited programming ability and no direct access to the server need the ability to ..."
  • "Must use a Free and Open Source Software solution." 
  • “Developing a report generator from scratch is not resourceable” 
  • “chosen option must have an extremely user-friendly front end that does not require the intervention of IT staff"
