Representatives from Hudson Molonglo (HM), LYRASIS, and the Archives Space UAC Reports Subteam met to discuss the draft ArchivesSpace Reports Module Requirements published in the Reports Subteam Meeting Minutes, 2016/12/13 and establish next steps.
Concerns expressed by HM including the ability to support the definition of reports by non-technical users and addressing the licensing issues of Jasper, the software that powers the current reports module.
HM established the following priorities for the March 2017 release of ArchivesSpace:
HM also suggested the need to research and create recommendations for robust standalone reporting tools that would work well with ArchivesSpace.
The group agreed that strategic next steps for the Reports Subteam includes defining the predefined reports library.
The ability to plug in reports to the new module for repositories with more technical proficiency was also discussed.
Finally, the group discussed the need to cull the current offering of reports in Archives to identify those reports that are critically important. They also discusses the addition of a limited number of new reports to the library to address some of the new functionalities related to locations and top containers.
