Hi, and thanks for taking the time to talk with us today. As I mentioned, we’re working with ArchivesSpace developers to do some testing that will help us build an application that will really work well for people. Today what we’re looking at are sites that do things like ArchivesSpace.

So, we’re asking people to use [SITE #] and complete five tasks. The session should take about 10-15 minutes. I want to be very clear that what we’re “testing” is the site, not you. You can’t do anything wrong here and everything you do will go to helping us understand how to build a better ArchivesSpace.

Do you have any questions before we get started?

With your permission, I’m going to record what happens on the screen. If you would, I’m going to ask you to sign a permission form for us. It just says that we have permission to record you, and that we will only use the recording for the purposes of this test.

GIVE FORM AND A PEN

START THE SCREEN RECORDER IN MORAE WHILE THEY SIGN. MORAE SHOULD MINIMIZE AND YOU’LL JUST SEE THE VIEWER WINDOW FOR [SITE #].

Ok, so this is [SITE #]. People use this site to explore archival collections at [SITE HOST] and we’re going to start out by having you do some specific tasks. [GIVE APPROPRIATE SHEET WITH TASKS] I’d like you to read each task aloud, and then use the site to perform the task. When you feel like you have completed the task, let me know by saying something like “ok, all done with #1.” If you feel like you can’t complete the task, let me know and you can just move on to the next one.

ALLOW PARTICIPANT TO WORK THROUGH THE TASKS.

Thanks so much for going through those tasks, now if you would, let’s spend just a couple minutes walking back through your experience. You can use the site, click and scroll around through things and tell me about things you liked or didn’t like, anything that was interesting or confusing as you were working on those tasks.  ALLOW PARTICIPANT TO LOOK AROUND AND TALK FOR 2-3 MINUTES.

Great, thank you, this has been really helpful and we really appreciate your time!
