Easier configuration changes discussion with Brian. The development team is looking to give archivists more control over config/yml files rather than having to go through sysadmins.

His questions to the group included:

• Top 5 or 10 issues that we want to change, but haven’t due to an IT barrier.

• What are our roadblocks to change?

• What are the “hot topics” among archivists?

Our brainstorming session led to ideas about spell-check in SUI, editing note length in the PUI, and other small changes.

Chris brought up the translation of the values in Controlled Value Lists. Having the spaces in the translation field makes it non-EAD compliant, but adding them increases UI and readability. Additionally, on hosted instances, they have to email Lyrasis to request changes.

The group decided that a poll of the ASpace community would be a good next step. We will work on a proposal to present this project at the Member Forum in March. Susannah will send out a draft this afternoon.
