Can you help me with: |
| As a real newbie to ArchivesSpace, it would be really interesting to know whether there are any good sources to look at about overall decisions institutions have made about how they use ArchivesSpace- eg when to use assessments; when to use events. The system is so flexible I can see there are a number of different ways to use it to manage your collection. Jessica is creating a resource page for new ArchivesSpace users with documentation to help get started and facilitate informed decision making within ArchivesSpace. Kevin Clair, chair of the user documentation sub-team, discussed there the new ArchivesSpace User Manual. This new manual will be house on in Confluence and will allow for better editing and maintenance by the user doc User Doc sub-team.

| I’d be interested to understand more about the background to the difference between archival objects and resources- specifically why you can add user-defined fields to resource records but not to archival objects. Wondered if this was something to do with Archivist's Toolkit. Christine Di Bella provided explanation about some background on the original development of ArchivesSpace and suggested there could always be changes made . There is opportunity to suggest changes to the application by submitting a JIRA ticketJIRA tickets. It is most valuable to offer use cases and demonstrate community interest by getting discussion going among users. A There was discussion about pdf generation was held and the desire for both pdfs at the archival object level and for accession records was expressed. These could also be requested via JIRA: https://archivesspace.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ADC/pages/19202060/How+to+Request+a+New+Feature There is considerable intersection interest in linking accession records to Archival Objects. A JIRA already exists: https://archivesspace.atlassian.net/browse/ANW-287

| We're looking at ways to add digital objects to finding aids and we're interesting in seeing how other institutions are doing it. | Kimberly Gianfrancesco, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi |

I have an idea! |
| Moving instances between Resources/Archival Objects using drag and drop | Kate Telford, Rhode Island State Archives |
| Updating files using the csv download and then upload that same csv file to make bulk changes There was specific interest in the meeting about making bulk edits to container lists. Kevin Clair, Rachel Searcy and Noah Huffman all discussed individual projects they are working on to make bulk editing easier within ArchivesSpace. They and Christine Di Bella agreed to meet about a potential working group to combine their initiatives. There was also interest in the ability to make bulk edit edits to Archival Objects in RDE.
