Dev Pri Retrospective 2023-2024

Accomplishments:

  • Supported Program Team on new Community guidance and templates for Jira tickets.

  • Creating a foundation for more Community input on tickets.

Challenges:

  • Felt Dev Pri would benefit in having more representatives using the PUI.

  • Lack of members on developer side able to prgress technical / backened ticktets.

Priorities for next term:

  • Formalize process for Dev Pri to edit Jira tickets.

Leadership assignments 2024-2025:

2023-2024 User Documentation Retrospective

2024-2025 Leadership:

Lead: Kelly Francis

Vice-lead: TBD

Testing

https://archivesspace.atlassian.net/l/cp/M06YLonk

  • During the previous year, the Testing Sub-team worked on the following tasks:

    • Regression testing for the 3.5.0 release;

    • Tested or are currently watching 23 specific Jira issues including 10 bugs and 13 new feature requests

    • Began implementing behavior scenarios in the regression testing workbook in preparation for the next round of regression testing and potential development of an automated end to end testing suite.

What Went Well

  • We were able to complete our testing assignments on schedule, providing feedback to the development team about ongoing work.

  • During each testing window we held scheduled virtual work sessions, which assisted with onboarding new members of the group and answering questions/addressing issues.

  • A vice-lead (Michelle Paquette) was identified early in the term, hopefully easing the transition into leadership activities next year.

What Could Be Improved

  • Creation of Jira and regression testing overview videos was suggested early in the term, but that did not end up happening.

  • We did not get around to updating the Testing Process - 2016 documentation.  This may be irrelevant in light of proposed changes to the overall nature of ArchivesSpace testing and implementation of an end to end testing suite.
