2024-2025 Metadata Standards Sub-team Retrospective

Accomplishments

Analyzed results from the community survey (issued in Spring 2024) on uses of metadata in ArchivesSpace, including for batch import and export, and user needs around metadata standards support in the application. Developed a workplan based on those results.
Supported the user community through ongoing ticket review. When appropriate gathered feedback from the community via the listserv.
Creation of new Jira tickets related to metadata standards.
Regular monitoring of ArchivesSpace to ensure it remains in compliance with MARC21 and EAD 2002 for both import and export as new features are developed. Responded to consultation requests from the Multilingual Description Task Force.
Continued monitoring the development of EAD 4.0 and invited speakers from TS-EAS to present during our regular meetings.
Engaged with the ArchivesSpace user community through presentations at the Virtual Member Forum (March 2025) and informal discussion at the Member Match Mixer (March 2025).
