Program update

  • Still looking at a small release before the end of the year

  • Community Engagement Coordinator search is underway and expect a new hire will be made in the early months of the new year; contact Christine D. with any engagement needs before the new person is in place

  • ArchivesSpace has an agreement with LYR Digital Technology Services to provide technical support for members; as part of that, Blake Carver of LYR DTS is working on some short videos on technical/sys admin topics. See list at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Y5PPWFA97g9Pu6X_2eW3UWAM7VQa-KLSEmiDeuFAnoE/edit?usp=sharing - feel free to suggest additional topics. Each video will be uploaded to our public YouTube channel when complete.

  • Both committees will be poled and a joint meeting scheduled for sometime in January.

  • How can we increase the number of active developers?

  • How can “non-coders” get involved?

  • Do we need to expand the definition of developer? Possible webinar topic?

  • Another possible webinar topic: Basics Architecture of the System (Hands-on Beginners Session)

  • How do identify barriers to building local plugin?

  • What is the process for suggesting changes to core code. How to get community together to discuss these changes?

Development Prioritization

Testing

  • Integrations Sub-team:

    • We are currently performing a widespread review of our existing documentation. This includes rethinking the names for Integration Tiers, Revising out How and Why to Integrate documents, and taking a look at the information on the ArchivesSpace website.

    • We’ve also identified the AS/Alma Integration as a large project in the future, and will be providing comments on the document sent out by Adrien Hilton on Monday, 12/10.

 

Migration Sub-team: we’re currently working on reviewing and updating the data import/export maps, and will be meeting in January to share our progress.
