    Testing

    Ashley Williams Clawson

    https://archivesspace.atlassian.net/l/cp/M06YLonk

    • We were able to complete our testing assignments on schedule, providing feedback to the development team about ongoing work.

    • During the previous year, the Testing Sub-team worked on the following tasks: Accomplishments

      • Regression testing for the 3.5.0 release;

      • Tested or are currently watching 23 specific Jira issues including 10 bugs and 13 new feature requests

      • Began implementing behavior scenarios in the regression testing workbook in preparation for the next round of regression testing and potential development of an automated end to end testing suite.

    What Went Well

      • During each testing window we held scheduled virtual work sessions, which assisted with onboarding new members of the group and answering questions/addressing issues.

    • A vice-lead (Michelle Paquette) was identified early in the term, hopefully easing the transition into leadership activities next year.

    What Could Be Improved
    • Challenges

      • Creation of Jira and regression testing overview videos was suggested early in the term, but that did not end up happening.

      • We did not get around to updating the Testing Process - 2016 documentation.  This may be irrelevant in light of proposed changes to the overall nature of ArchivesSpace testing and implementation of an end to end testing suite.
