Rolling deadlines for pull requests issued. Next release due near the end of the month. A release candidate may precede full release. Most changes are on the infrastructure side.

New hire announcement: Lora Woodford (JHU) will join DevOps at Lyrasis DTS and ASpace program for next six months staff.

  • Provide an overview of TAC’s goals and activities as well as quick insights into each of the sub-teams as part of "All About Community" blog series.
  • Ideas for "User Insights" blog series ("...especially drawing from instances in which you’ve been challenged while using ArchivesSpace, or when you or the team has been able to help someone out...")?

Max Eckard to contribute a brief overview of TAC activities. Outreach to sub-team leads forthcoming.

5minCore Committers Group update

Next release out at end of January. Release candidate on Monday (1/22).

Major fixes include URL prefixing and remote assets; digital object linkages; reordering resource tree and EAD export

5minSub-team updates (please reference your work plans)
  • Thanks to Kari S. (Unlicensed) for her participation on the team. 
  • Lydia Tang (Unlicensed) added as team co-lead. Lydia will assist with community outreach, engaging with team members, and documentation of team workflow.
  • The team is awaiting the results from program staff about staff interface enhancements and intends to assist with the prioritization of tasks. 
  • The team will collectively work on online documentation of bug reporting for an April webinar, organized by Christine Kim.
  • Team co-lead Jason Loeffler is liaising directly with bug reporters and feature requests on issues that are "Awaiting more information" as part of a broad effort to drive down the number of stale bug reports and determine the disposition of these reports. 
    • There are 28 reported bugs in this queue (down from 35 in Q4).
    • 10 are either awaiting more information from reporters or validation by the team.
    • 14 are awaiting prioritization.
    • 17 are ready for implementation and will be realized in a future release.
    • 3 are started.
    • 1 is awaiting testing.
    • There are 37 new feature requests in this queue (up from 12 in Q4).
    • 10 are either awaiting more information from reporters or validation by the sub-team.
    • 14 are awaiting prioritization

Work plan is in-progress. Watching listserv for migration questions. Team is digging deeper into looking ways to complement/improve existing migration tools.

Technical Documentation sub-team

  • Tech Docs Workplan for 2017-2018
  • The team is working with Laney's help to set up a separate GitHub repo for the technical documentation at https://github.com/archivesspace/tech-docs
  • We will use the spring to pilot contributing to the new repo via pull requests and issues, hoping to work towards a process that could engage the ArchivesSpace community in improving the tech docs.

Technical Documentation being pulled into a tech docs Git repository, e.g. configuring Solr, SSL. Users invited to make pull requests, review, merge. Use GitHub issue queue to raise questions. Static site options include (Jekyll, Read the Docs, etc.)

Awesome ArchivesSpace working group

  • 3 people have joined –
    • Dustin’s colleague (thanks again, Dustin!)
    • Two people from William & Mary who had posted to the ASpace User Group listserv about migrations and I reached out to
    • I’ve also reached out to someone who posted to listserv about plug-ins – no response, yet
    • If anyone else is interested, or knows of someone, let me know asap
  • Three possible Awesome List topics to start with: migrations, plugins, and integrations
  • Will send out a poll to schedule kick-off meeting next week and get started
