Workload: The workload of the (co-)chair can vary depending on the deployment and release of new and updated functionalities in new versions of ArchivesSpace, as well as on the needs of the sub-team and its members. There will be an increase time commitment in the early months of each fiscal year to orient new sub-team members and develop the sub-team’s priorities and work plan for the year.
Responsibilities: The User Documentation Sub-Team (Co-)Chairs has primary responsibility for coordinating the work of the Documentation Sub-Team. This includes:
Welcoming and orienting new members of the sub-team
Providing training on tools and processes that the sub-team uses
Leading and facilitating sub-team meetings
Establishing and maintaining sustainable work processes and project plans
Maintaining documentation on the sub-team’s section on Confluence
Liaising with the ArchivesSpace’s Community Engagement Coordinator and Standards and Testing Archivist to identify and meet ArchivesSpace documentation needs
Invite Standards and Testing Archvisit to User Docs meeting when there is a new ArchivesSpace release
Contributing sub-team report to the TAC/UAC quarterly and annual reports
Providing sub-team report-out at regular UAC meetings
Responsibilities at the start of a new term:
Create a new section within the sub-team’s section in Confluence to record meeting notes, sub-team section assignments, and the annual workplan. (July)
Send welcome and introductory e-mail to new sub-team members (July)
Schedule monthly meeting with sub-team members starting in August (July)
Contact Jessica Crouch to provide editing access to the User Manual for new sub-team members (July)
