Quarterly report for the Board coming together. Breakouts at the October TAC meeting were well received.

There are two volunteers from Member Engagement for the Code of Conduct Task Force.

The October UAC meeting has a demo from Testing. November will have a demo from DevPri.

Member Engagement is looking for collaborators for Member Match events - welcome from both UAC and TAC.

The Council leaders got together to look through the workplans. They’re looking good and there are thematic and other connections between teams' plans that were encouraging to see.

At the TAC meeting people expressed interest in getting multiple teams together in breakouts (for example, Metadata and Testing). Will think through the logistics.

At the beginning of the calendar year, TAC leaders will check in with the member on leave about plans.

The Testing demo Austin has given to a few groups has been valuable and appreciated. Christine asked Austin about doing a recording that would be available publicly to demystify and support the testing process. The Program Team can provide tech support for recording and video editing as needed.

All

  • Many sub-teams mentioned wanting to increase visibility of their work (or work products) and/or do more community engagement – possible focus for February joint meeting. Will invite Jessica.

  • TAC meeting topic ideas

    • How to talk about Council service at work (for example, for use in a promotion packet) - might be able to develop a shared resource for this eventually.

    • ArchivesSpace developer talking about something related to the code or development process. One possibility would be something along the lines of the original HM developer screencasts. Christine requested that the specific topic be defined, and that this be in the new calendar year, but thinks this would be possible.

Interest in being involved in submitting an SAA proposal or organizing a different kind of activity at SAA in Chicago?

  • ArchivesSpace at 10(11) - Christine/Jessica/people from some different stages of ArchivesSpace history (Rachel interested)

  • Council meetup or alumni event outside of the Member Forum

  • StoryCorps idea that could be part of or independent of SAA

Anything else?

Impressions of the Github part 2 class - seemed pretty focused on git/command line, which may be less relevant/comfortable for archivists. Maybe a future training on Github would work better if either interface-focused or taught by an archivist.
