20 min | Checking in | All | UAC and TAC monthly meetings are now scheduled. It was especially challenging to find a time for the UAC one, in part because of the larger size of the group compared to previous years. While hopefully people who aren’t able to attend live will get what they need from the meeting notes/asynchronous communications, this will be something to pay attention to. Most teams have completed their workplans. There is good energy and participation around this. TAC will be experimenting with doing some cross-team breakouts in upcoming meetings. UAC will be doing some discussions related to talking about service and leadership in ArchivesSpace for professional growth. |
5 min | September Joint Meeting | Austin/Rebecca | Joint meeting agenda is set. In addition to the workplans discussion, Mary will be presenting about the Code of Conduct work. Documents will be presented within the meeting, with feedback requested closer to the end of September. |
10 min | Vice Leads/succession planning | Christine | We have several openings on sub-teams and a potential opening at the Vice Chair level. Some groundwork that has or will be laid this year is adding at least two new members to sub-teams, talking about leadership early and often, and making direct appeaks. The Council Handbook and written documentation of responsibilities and specific actions to take at specific times has proven to be incredibly helpful in making people more comfortable about seeing themselves in leadership roles. |
5 min | Mary status | Christine | Mary is moving to a position at a non-member position as of the end of September. This has implications for her participation in UAC since UAC is a member-only body. She will continue through the end of the calendar year, by which time a determination will have been made about her new institution’s interest in membership. Other decisions about roles in UAC will proceed from there. |
