How to Attach Your Work (Institutional) Email to a Google Account
Note: You can send/receive messages from the Google Group without linking your email to a Google account, however, you will not be able to access it from the web interface.
If you would like to access the Google Group from the web interface to do tasks like managing your delivery settings, you must have a Google account. If your work email address is not already connected to a Google account, you can do so by following the steps below.
Click here: https://accounts.google.com/signup to create a new Google Account.
When asked to create a username, select ‘Use my current email address instead.’
Enter your personal information into the fields as necessary.
You will be emailed a verification code to your work email address. Enter this code into the verification box and click ‘Next.’
Complete the final steps in verifying your account and accept the Terms & Conditions.
Your email address is now successfully associated to a Google Account.
How to Subscribe to a Google Group
Note: Being able to post or receive messages from others in the group is a benefit of ArchivesSpace membership. If you are not an ArchivesSpace member, you will not be eligible to join these groups.
To subscribe, simply send a blank email to this address (Archivesspace_Users_Group+subscribe@lyrasislists.org) and it will send an automated request to join.
Another way to subscribe is shown in the steps below:
Go to the address for the ArchivesSpace Users Group (https://groups.google.com/a/lyrasislists.org/g/Archivesspace_Users_Group ) or the Small Archives Users Group (https://groups.google.com/a/lyrasislists.org/g/Archivesspace_small_archives_users_group ).
Click ‘Ask to join group.’
Complete the steps to submit your request.
Note: you can choose to link your Google account profile as well as set your Subscription preferences here.
Once the request has successfully been submitted, you will see the ‘Join request sent.'
Once you have requested access, you must wait for the group administrators to approve your request.
How to Post to the Google Group
An easy way to post to the Google Group is to send your email to Archivesspace_Users_Group@lyrasislists.org.
How to Set Your Mail Subscription to ‘Digest’
Once you have been accepted into a Group:
Select ‘My Groups'
Click on the caret next to ‘Each Email’ under the Subscription column
3. Select your preferred subscription setting from the drop-down list:
