Brief review of previous subteam work and activities currently underway

Previous work:

  • Github re-org proposal reviewed by Committer Oversight and sent out to Users' Group listserv with deadline of this Friday

Current:

Brainstorm priorities for 2017

What does the ASpace developer community need most at this stage?

Top priority remains Github re-org

      • ACTION - Laney to execute the re-org starting with the deprecated and labs organizations

Second priority is establishment of core committers group and policy and processes to support it

      • Draft Contributors' Guide to be sent to Committer Oversight by COB on Friday 3/17 for review
      • Thoughts of who should be core committers?

After these pieces of work are complete, group will reflect on its ongoing role and responsibilities in the community, e.g. it probably makes more sense for core committers to review pull requests than this group, etc.

Other ASpace developer community needs:

    • Clarifying where you look for bugs - e.g. issues encountered at Atlas - documentation page on the wiki may be improved
      • 2 different bug lists - JIRA & Github
      • How do users generally submit bugs?
    • Communication issues - sprawling documentation - this is really hard and no one has really cracked it
