Repo check-in

Rachel

  • 1 open pull request

    • We resolved it together!

    • See Rachel’s documentation here: Technical Documentation | To merge a pull request:

    • Rachel observed that when there is a backlog of merges to be completed, it’s more likely that there will be conflicts, so best to keep up with them

    • Question for Blake: What is best practice around deleting a branch after merging? GitHub prompts you to delete after merging, but we have been leaving them.

  • Look for an email in the next week or so with info on how to sign up for Blake’s May 11 GitHub training for free.

Plan for April TAC presentation

All

  • TechDocs is scheduled to present at the April TAC meeting (Tuesday, April 11)

  • Prompts:

    • Something relevant to your subteam’s workplan, like workshopping an idea, getting feedback on a decision

    • Suggestions for TAC documentation/training

    • Simply to tell us what your subteam does! Walk us through a recent agenda, talk about a recent decision, peel back the curtain on your subteam!

  • What should we talk about? Notes from last meeting:

    • talk about challenges, what it means to be "rebuilding," creating documentation/resources so that you don't need to be a dev to use tech docs or to be an active/contributing member of the Tech Docs team, create more continuity within Tech Docs with our internal documentation

    • show a pull request in the repository to anchor the conversation and pull back the curtain - we could create a fake example if needed

  • See overview here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zpGvRwMnNE1y7C9iKJ4n9UlcrLdBooY_lWuyv10APxA/edit

  • Rachel and Jenna will divide up talking points.

Next meeting

Wednesday, May 3 at 1pm EST (Rachel away)

May meeting canceled by group consensus. Look for an email from Rachel to start working asynchronously on retrospective.
