Multilingual description review

• Preliminary results

  • The survey is still open, with responses due by December 8th

  • A review of the preliminary results suggests that multilingual description is a strategic priority for the majority of the respondents

  • The comments noted a range of use cases, which will need to be reviewed

• Further distribution

  • The survey has been distributed on the ArchivesSpace listserv, the Google Group, a number of SAA listservs, and the ICA listserv

  • It is anticipated that the announcement will be included in the monthly update from the program team next week

  • An announcement will be posted to the Archivists Think Tank group on Facebook

  • If additional venues are identified, group members should feel free to repost

• Next steps

  • Once the survey is finalized, we will be reaching out to community volunteers with a first meeting in January

  • A report on the survey and some preliminary use cases are to be presented to the community in March
