Updates to charge (Technical Documentation )

• Met with TAC leadership & ASpace program team

• Updated TechDocs charge:

  • Added “Collaborate with ArchivesSpace program team to prioritize, assign, and work on issues in the TechDocs Jira board.”

  • Updated process for handling issues identified on the listserv to mention Jira board

  • Removed “Perform yearly surveys of old documentation to provide edits/updates”

  • Clarified Awesome ArchivesSpace responsibility

    • Promoting and actively updating

  • Added Membership section

    • Roles & Responsibilities for Lead & Vice-Lead

    • Communication between meetings

  • Corey TODO: schedule a meeting with Michelle to walkthrough how to do a PR.

  • Our current documentation (Technical Documentation ) shows how to approve a PR, but not how to submit one.

    • TD-20 will remove from the board. No other updates.

    • Use TD-26: in the PR title to link multiple PRs

    • Do we always want an issue first or a PR without an issue linked?

      • If major changes to techdocs, make an issue. For minor updates, just do PR with reference to what you’re updating

  • TD-37 - should it be considered blocked? Needs more info/refinement - a list of things to do. Thimios will update the description of the ticket.

  • TD-21 - moving on

  • TD-22 - moving on

  • TD-27 - linked to TD-46 which is a required before completing 27.

  • TD-46 - assigned to Ojas

  • TD-44 - Corey TODO: review each field and fix/add any and document fields that need more info

    • Defining fields, linking out to internal/external documentation, other issues, etc.. Some fields may not need additional info

  • TD-45 - Major scope for program team perspective. Probably a lighter/higher level overview of the the codebase that controls the SUI. Probably a holdover from old site.

    • Thimios will take it on - model after other pages in architecture section of the techdocs website.

  • Added a new ticket to make video documentation on how to submit a PR. This would be from the GitHub webbrowser - one commit per file (limitation of GitHub). Could also do local, but more complicated/varied. Good to show entire workflow from Issue to Work in progress to PR to Checks/Tests to Merge Accepted.
