Overall, we thought that the work we did over the year did a great job in setting a strong foundation for future work.
We agreed that our work to update the team's documentation was valuable and needed work in order to make sure we were staying relevant and not keeping anyone from giving us information.
We did a great job on starting to reach out to other communities and clearly communicating the work we do as a team; taking steps towards our goal of better outreach activities. We've already seen a few responses following our "reintroduction" emails.
We created a strong draft of a survey for information that we will be sending out soon. This information will hopefully help us better position ourselves to meet user needs.
Though it's been slow going sometimes, we found that we were doing well finding ways to work towards goals and making progress each month. We've only rarely had months with little to no progress.
We've done a good job responding to what we thought was lacking in last year's retrospective.
What We Could Improve
We've found ourselves working a little slowly on some projects and we feel like we could improve out-of-meeting work and communication. We're hoping to be better about emailing when we need help on a project, when something is ready for the next stage of work, or sending periodic reminders for input.
We felt our work plan was a little weak this year because while we had good goals, we didn't spend much time building out the steps to meet these goals. We had the "what" but not the "how". Moving forwards we think we could improve the work plan in the future.
Additionally, we think we could better "scope" the work plan. We tried to undertake a lot of work and didn't get to some of it.
We've had relatively few projects this year, and some of our work plan items slipped off of our radar.
