Welcome and introductions
  • Introduce yourselves, where you work, your role, your favorite movie!

  •

Review responses to last year’s survey

  • Good to see that people are meeting with their matches

  • Want to explore ideas on how to encourage matches to meet more often

  • Question: Do people request mentor relationships rather than peer to peer support?

    • Intended to be peer to peer, but people ask for mentor support re: archives in general, rather than ASpace specifically. Suggest going to SAA for a mentor program

    • Ask participants what they look for in this match, some say they want to be a mentor, but frequently say they are inexperienced and need support

    • Now prefer to make three-person matches to ensure everyone gets something out of it

  • This year’s matches:

Review team responsibilities

  • Major Activities:

    • Provide outreach and community support for the ArchivesSpace membership, in collaboration with the Community Engagement Coordinator. Manage the administration and activities of the ArchivesSpace Member Match Program

    • Identify ways to liase with national and regional archives organizations including the SAA, ALA, AAM, AASLH, and other relevant professional groups.

  • Two thigns we do:

    • Quarterly events

    • Listserv discussions

  • Ideas for improvement

    • Expand listserv

    • ID ways to connect with national/regional groups

  • Possibly re-evaluate the team charge and member match program

Develop work plan

Last Year’s:

NEW PAGE:

New template:

  • Is a listserv something people are not interested in anymore? Is there a feasible solution/replacement? Another informal engagement opportunity for participants outside of matches?

  • Do need to make periodic announcements, can use the listserv for posting notifications

  • People like unstructured Zoom coffee/happy/office hour events

  • Difficult to drum up participation with the program

  • Another platform for message board discussions? Less synchronous so people can engage on their own time

    • Jamboards?

Develop calendar

Last Year’s:

NEW PAGE:

  •

Nominate vice-lead by December

  • Figure out later

Discussion

  • Member Match is one individual at an institution, separate from your organization, do not match people at the same institution

    • Participants tend be solo archivists or one person at a large institution needing to learn from somewhere other than their institution

  • Has anyone on the team been a member match participant? Consider the perspective of a participant
