2018 Retrospective
2018 Retrospective
What did we do well?
- Enthusiasm of the group and interest in the project.
Good learning experience for participants.
- Organization of planning and running meetings.
- Everyone contributed and we worked well together dividing up the work and assigning tasks.
- Had good discussions as questions arose. Agreed on decisions and moved forward accordingly.
- Kept to our timeline and accomplished all of our goals.
Produced something that will hopefully help others and make their ArchivesSpace research easier, and even help them find answers much more quickly.
What could have gone better?
- May have been helpful to meet more often than once a month. With to-do tasks each month to keep the project moving forward, it was too easy to leave things until the last minute.
- Most administrative tasks fell to the Lead (Maggie). Could've tried to divide those out more.
Ad hoc working group feedback
- Really liked that the group focused on a specific task. Might help to break down larger topics or higher-level TAC assignments into ad hoc groups. These things could then be worked on concurrently.
There were clear objectives, clear and measurable deadlines, and regular meetings. This made it easy to commit, made us answerable to what we offered to do, and resulted in a collaborative endeavor.
- Grateful at the opportunity to contribute to this Awesome List and to the greater good of our archival community. I happy to see the TAC reaching out to others to participate. I hope that they continue this trend as I think it was worth it.
