Major goals of this forum / Quick brainstorming session for potential topics

All

  • better connecting international community

  • better ways to have aspace deal with multiple languages, japanese, diacritics, markup, etc. – pdf process – how to make aspace more friendly to non-english languages

  • extending the isu screencast series. public user interface, pdf.

  • keeping track of bug and feature requests

  • in the email forums, you see a ticket was submitted about that… it would be great to find a more helpful way to give a heads up, maybe through a sprint call to give a heads up on where things are with Jira tickets

    • part of the program could be sharing how to write jira, search, and explore better ways tco communicate

  • some way to point to all of the different resources. trying to make the front end more accessible. – awesome archivesspace

  • plugin development? how to make better use of that

    • session to ask technical questions

  • generally creating a safe/comfortable space for questions

  • a lot of orgs dont have tech support. something online forum can do

  • been to the annual forum, but best thing was to get to talk to people about similar issues/challenges. partly to connect people who have navigated issues before. best part was to just talk to other people.

  • having targeted discussion sessions?

    • Kansas City, navigating implementation format? quick overview from orgs (5-10 min) – and then open up discussion to other folks for suggestions?

  • buddy program – maybe a meetup session?

  • hearing a lot of very similar issues that i thought were unique!

  • archivists working with tech folks

  • a session just for IT? – IT is limited in time/resources

    • maybe a session to show them what ASpace can be and what it can do

    • Ask Blake?

  • a session on standards? – ASpace is DACS – crosswalks isaadg, international folks would be interested
