Transportation to Robert Woodruff Library, Atlanta University Center, for the ArchivesSpace Member Forum

The library is approximately three miles from the main SAA hotel, the Hilton Atlanta. There are a few options for getting between the two:

Shuttle Service

We have contracted for limited shuttle service between the Hilton Atlanta and the Woodruff Library. The shuttles will make the following trips:

For those attending the morning workshops

7:45 a.m.: pickup from Hilton Atlanta

8:15 a.m.: pickup from Hilton Atlanta (approximate time; bus may leave slightly later depending on traffic back from the library)

For those needing to return to the Hilton Atlanta after the morning workshops

Noon: pickup from Woodruff Library

For those coming to the Woodruff Library for the afternoon program only

12:15 p.m.: pickup from Hilton Atlanta

12:30 p.m.: pickup from Hilton Atlanta

For those returning to the Hilton Atlanta after the conclusion of the Member Forum

5:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m.: pickup from Woodruff Library

LYRASIS staff members will be on hand to direct attendees to the shuttles at the Hilton Atlanta.

Driving

For those with access to a car, there is parking available at the library for a small fee ($3). Free street parking is sometimes available. Information on parking is available from the library's website at http://www.auctr.edu/about/facilities-services/directions-parking-hours/.

Public Transportation

The closest MARTA stops are Ashby Station (0.7 mile walk from the Library) and Vine City (0.9 mile walk from the Library), which are both on the blue and green lines. There is no direct subway service between Peachtree Center, which is the closest stop to the Hilton Atlanta. From Peachtree Center, you will need to take the red or gold line one stop to Five Points to change to the blue or green lines.

Two city buses have stops close to the Library – the 3 line, which runs along Martin Luther King Drive and through the AUC campus, and the 68, which runs along Joseph E. Lowery Blvd.

Taxi or Taxi-Like Options

If you will be arriving or leaving outside of the shuttle times or from a location other than the SAA hotel and do not have access to a car, a cab or service like Uber or Lyft may be a good option.
