Follow up on questions from page editing assignment

 

  1. Is there a way to bookmark specific terms in the glossary to like pages? If we cannot bookmark to a specific term do we even want to have a page link out to the glossary?

  2. Should we be linking out to other pages within the User Manual? How stable are the links? Will that lead to too many broken links?

  3. Should we be updating the last updated at the bottom of the page? is this a hold over from the pdf?

  1. There used to be page anchors, but it is no supported in Confluence Cloud. Jessica will do some investigation. Maybe the glossary is ASpace specific.

  2. Once a page is created the link is persistent. If you create a new page all of the link will be new too. Jessica thought it is worthwhile to link to other pages that make sense. Perhaps we could incorporate the checking of links as part of the update process.

  3. We can delete the “last updated” information at the bottom of the page? It is a holdover from the pdf.

  4. If versioning individual pages, is there any value in versioning the entire manual when .0 versions are released? Lots of work to version entire manual, what is gained? Something to think about

This plan is moving forward for our monthly meetings from October through January 2021. Your turn for discussion can be anything your sub-team wishes to talk about from questions you have for the whole council, projects you are working on, and guests to discuss work they have done with ArchivesSpace.
