PUI Elements that are not reflected in Wireframes

This page is meant to capture those elements for the PUI that are not able to be reflected in a wireframe, but will make a big difference in the experience.

Inheritance:

When data is not entered into a record, the record should inherit the data from the record that is the next level up from it that has data entered. E.g. if an item's parent has data, then the record inherits that. If the item's parent does not have data, then it inherits from the grandparent (and so on).

Note that further discussion is needed by the WG as to whether or not this is true for all fields. Tagging Mark Custer to evaluate this.

Search functionality: 

Mark Custer has asked (on Slack) if, in addition to the AND / OR / NOT operators, a NEAR operator could be included. This is something to be discussed with Brian Hoffman (Unlicensed). What is possible? Phase I or II? Unless there is something I don't understand bout this request, it does not need to be reflected in the wireframe, since it would be another operator added to the list. If this is a Phase II request and requires more UI consideration, then we will definitely need input from Brian. Additional behavior notes that Mark mentioned from how EAD Finding Aid Database works: when that option is selected, the following message pops up:  "A NEAR search looks for search terms within 10 words of each other. For NEAR searches, the field type is automatically set to Keyword."
